《Hello》這首歌談與情人分手後想起過去交往的種種，對於自己過去做錯的事情以及錯過的機會而感到懊悔，知道自己與對方已經沒有任何機會，但還是想知道對方是否一切安然無恙。

break one’s heart 讓某人心碎

tear apart 撕碎、撕裂
But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore.
但也無所謂了，很明顯的我不再能夠傷害你了
這裏大家應該有發現一個小小的錯誤，其實歌曲裡面常常有這種現象。it don’t matter 其實應該是 it doesn’t matter 才會符合文法，在這裡之所以會用 don’t 有可能是因為它比 doesn’t 少了一個音節，可以配合曲子，在這邊聽起來會比較順耳一些。

settle down 這個片語在感情上，多指已經做好結婚準備

花花公子 Martin 終於決定要跟他的新女友定下來。
out of the blue 突如其然、不在預期內的
I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited.
我討厭不請自來地出現在這裡。

never mind 這個片語根據使用的語氣不同，也可以有「沒關係」、「算了吧」等意思

B: Never mind, I wasn’t that into you anyway.

這首《Rolling in the Deep》就跟前兩首歌曲差很多了，歌曲一開始就用強而有力的節奏震撼聽眾。雖然都是在談舊情人，不過這次Adele唱出準備好要絕地反擊的勇猛，在分手後終於看清楚舊情人的真面目，下定決心決定要讓背叛她的舊情人嚐到報應。
crystal clear 一清二楚

我終於可以把你看的一清二楚
crystal 作為名詞時有「水晶」的意思，作為形容詞時即為「晶瑩的、清澈透明的」之意
Ken wants to make it crystal clear that he will never sign the contract.
Ken想清楚表示他絕對不會簽這份合約。
sell someone out 背叛某人
Go ahead and sell me out And I’ll lay your shit bare.
儘管背叛我，我也會揭露你的一切
這個片語可以直接用中文的意思來看，把某人「賣掉」換言之就是背叛某人囉！

你怎麼可以出賣我！我以為你是我的朋友！

如果你敢背叛我，我絕對會揭露你所有的秘密。

你會好好補償我，是你自食惡果
reap (v.) 獲得、收到、報償
sow (v.) 播種
由字面上來看可以看出來「你播種了什麼就得到什麼」，也因此延伸出「自食其果」的意思。
