1. To be on the top of the world
如果你站在世界的頂點往下看，看見山川壯麗壯麗的風景，或是被川流不息的車陣點亮的城市夜景，想必心情一定非常興奮、開心！因此這個俚語就表示對某件事感到極度開心。
e.g., They’re on the top of the world since they had a baby. 自從他們有了小孩後，便感到十分開心。
e.g.,
I was on the top of the world on graduation day. 畢業那天我超級開心。
2. To think the world of someone
簡直把對方當成你的全世界來看待，代表你很尊敬、敬愛對方。
e.g., I think the world of my parents. 我很敬愛我的父母。
e.g.,
The country thinks the world of its president. 國家的人民非常敬愛他們的總統。
3. To watch the world go by
它的意思其實就和字面上差不多，描述你其實沒有特別在做什麼事，只是閒坐著，而世界仍舊自顧自地運轉。形容你無所事事地坐著，也沒有什麼重要的事發生。
e.g., Eddie: “So, what are you guys doing?” 你們在幹嘛呀？

4. To have the world at your feet
如果你很厲害，厲害到能夠把世界踩在你的腳底下，這就表示你變得越來越成功，而且非常受到歡迎及尊敬。
e.g., He had the whole world at his feet by the time he was 30. 他 30 歲時前程似錦，且受到他人尊敬及歡迎。
5. To move up in the world
若是你在世界上的位置持續往上、步步高升，就代表你變得更成功，社會地位更加提升，通常用於職場上。
e.g., Congratulations on your new job! You’re really moving up in the world. 恭喜你獲得新工作，飛黃騰達！
e.g.,
If we want to move up in the world, we must work hard. 我們如果想飛黃騰達，就一定得努力。
