「不同意」只會說 I don’t agree?

Mindy: Hey Tony, how are you today?

Tony: I’m good, how about you?
Tony:

Mindy: I’m fine, too. Are you ready for the discussion today?
Mindy:

Tony: For sure. I’ve already got some ideas on what we could do for the charity fundraising event. I’m thinking maybe we could sell cupcakes.

Mindy: Hmmm… that’s an option. But I’m not sure. Does anyone in our group actually know how to make cupcakes?

Tony: You’ve got a point there. If no one knows how to make them, maybe buying them from the bakery is a good idea?

Mindy: I beg to differ. That will be far too expensive.
Mindy:

Tony: I guess you don’t think that is a good idea then. Do you have any other suggestions?
Tony:

I’m not sure…

當你不同意別人卻又不想聽起來太直接,這個句型就是你最好的選擇:I’m not sure…,後面接 (that) + S +V 或 whether/if + S + V,例句如下:

Advertisements

I’m not sure if studying abroad is worth it.

I beg to differ.

I beg to differ (with sb.) (on sth.)。

I beg to differ with you on this topic.

I don’t think that is a good idea.

That’s a good idea. (真是個好想法),相反地,如果今天你不認同,就可以用 I don’t think (我不覺得) 開頭,加上 that’s a good idea (那是個好想法),來委婉表示不認同。 I think that is not a gooo idea.。

I don’t think borrowing money from your friends is a good idea.

Mindy: How about a kissing booth? Maybe that would encourage more young people to come!
Mindy:

Tony: I’m afraid I don’t agree with you.
Tony:

Mindy: Why not?
Mindy:

Tony: Most Taiwanese people are relatively conservative. I don’t think they would like a kissing booth.

Mindy: I see what you mean, but maybe we could give it a try?
Mindy:

Tony: I mean… it’s only my opinion. There’s no harm in asking what other people think.

Mindy: Sure.
Mindy:

I’m afraid I don’t agree with you.

I’m afraid I don’t agree with you on this issue.

I see what you mean, but…

I see what you mean, but in my opinion, I don’t think it is going to work.

There’s no harm in… …

There’s no harm in…

There’s no harm in at least listening to what she has to say.
