一個週六下午，Bob 獨自一人在台北的大安森林公園閒晃。
他走著走著突然發現前方不遠處有個外國遊客在四處張望，好像很困擾的樣子。
身為台灣好青年的 Bob 決定前往給予協助！
Bob: Hello! You seem to be confused. Do you need help?
Bob：你好！你看起來很困惑。你需要幫忙嗎？
Foreign Tourist: Yes! Thank you!! Arghh I’ve been having a terrible day since this morning… My name is Anna. Nice to meet you.
外國遊客：是的！謝謝你！啊啊，我今天早上真是糟透了…我叫做 Anna，很高興認識你。
Bob: I’m Bob, nice to meet you too. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a bad day.
Bob：我是 Bob，我也很高興認識你。我很遺憾你今天過得不順利。
Anna: (sigh) I got separated from my friend this morning, and we’re supposed to meet at Taipei Main Station in an hour, but I don’t know how to get there.
Anna：(嘆氣) 我今天早上和我朋友走散了，我們應該再一個小時就要在台北車站會合的，但我不知道怎麼去那裡。
Bob: Don’t worry, Anna, I can help you. You see, we are at Daan Park now, and there’s a metro station not far from here.
Bob：別擔心，Anna，我可以幫你。你看哦，我們現在在大安森林公園，這附近就有一個捷運站。
Anna: Really?
Anna：真的嗎？
Bob: Yep, I can take you there and show you how to get to the train station.
Bob：真的呀，我可以帶你去那裡然後告訴你怎麼去車站。
Anna: That’ll be great!! Bob, it’s so nice of you to help me out!
Anna：那就太好了！！Bob，你人真好！
Bob: Haha, no problem. Let’s go. This way!
Bob：哈哈，別客氣。我們走吧。往這裡！
小 V 忍不住想到如果 Bob 是怪蜀黍那 Anna 就危險了，幸好我們的 Bob 是台灣好青年！
先來複習單字吧！
confused (adj.) 困惑的
confused 為形容詞，意思是「困惑的；迷惑的」，它來自於動詞 confuse「使困惑」，另外一個一樣來自 confuse 的形容詞為 confusing「令人困惑的」。這個詞拆解開來為字首 con-「一起」加上 -fuse「融合；混合」，組合在一起直翻就是「混合在一起」，組合在一起也就亂呼呼的，令人困惑囉！
Tommy is confused by the jigsaw puzzle.
Tommy 被智力拼圖搞迷糊了。
A: I’m telling you that the chicken should be put in the bag inside the box inside the refrigerator, and it should be taken out in 23 minutes so that you can…
B: Slow down! You’re confusing me!
A：我跟你說哦那個雞啊應該放進那箱子裡的袋子然後放冰箱然後 23 分鐘後拿出來這樣你才可以…
B：慢點！你讓我好困惑呀！
separate (v.) 分離
separate 為動詞，意思是「分離；分開」，常見的搭配為 seperate A from B (把 A 與 B 分開)。
Let’s separate and meet here in 15 minutes.
我們先分開然後 15 分鐘後在這會合。His parents have separated and live in different places.
他的父母離異，分居在不同的地方。
It’s so nice of you! 你人真好！
句型「It’s + 形容詞 + of + 人」用來形容一個人的性格或人格特質，比如形容詞可以填入 kind (親切的)、rude (粗魯的)，要記住這裡形容詞後接的介詞是 of。
It’s rude of you to talk to your teacher like that!
你和老師那樣說話非常沒禮貌！

Bob: Anna, how many days have you been in Taiwan?
Bob：Anna，你來台灣有幾天了？
Anna: I just arrived two days ago. I came here to visit my friend.
Anna：我兩天前才剛到。我來這裡找我朋友。
Bob: You mean the friend you’re going to meet at the train station?
Bob：是你帶回要在車站會合的那個朋友嗎？
Anna: Yes, she was an exchange student back in my country. She said that I must pay her a visit in the future, so here I am!
Anna：對，她之前在我的國家當交換學生。她說我一定要來拜訪她，所以我這就來啦！
Bob: How nice! So, what do you think of Taiwan so far? Have you tried any Taiwanese food?
Bob：好棒啊！那你覺得台灣如何呢？你試過任何台灣菜了嗎？
Anna: My friend took me to the night market on the first day. It was amazing! Although the stinky tofu really freaked me out.
Anna：我剛到的第一天我朋友就帶我去夜市，很棒的體驗！雖然臭豆腐真的是把我嚇爛。
Bob: Haha I see. Hey, we’ve arrived! We’re now at the Daan Park Station, and your destination is Taipei Main Station, right here (pointing at the route map of Taipei metro).
Bob：哈哈，我了解。嘿，我們到了！我們現在在大安森林公園站，你的目的地是台北車站，就在這。(指著台北捷運路線圖)
Anna: Do I need to transfer?
Anna：需要轉車嗎？
Bob: There’s no need to. The red line will take you directly to Taipei Main Station. It’s just four stops away.
Bob：不需要。紅線會直接帶你到那裡。距離台北車站才四站。
pay sb. a visit (phr.) 拜訪某人
visit 動名詞同形，意思是「拜訪」，當名詞時常搭配動詞 pay，pay sb. a visit 表示「拜訪某人」。
When you come to Taoyuan, don’t forget to pay me a visit!
你來桃園時，別忘了來拜訪我！
freak sb. out (phr.) 驚嚇到某人
freak 在這裡是動詞，意思是「使情緒激動」，如片語 freak out (驚嚇；受驚)，受詞可直接接在 freak 之後，freak sb. out 表示「嚇到某人」。補充：freak 同樣也能做名詞，意思是「怪胎；怪人」。
Flying cockroaches really freak me out!
會飛的小強真的是把我嚇爛！！
Everybody thinks Tommy is a freak, but in fact, he’s just special.
大家都覺得 Tommy 是個怪胎，但其實他只是比較特殊。
transfer (v.) 轉乘
在本文中，transfer 的意思是「轉乘；換車」，但除此之外 transfer 也有「調動；轉移」的意思。
I have to transfer to the MRT on my way to school.
我在去學校的路上必須換乘捷運。
The patient needs a more thorough examination, so he’s been transferred to a bigger hospital.
那位病患需要更詳細的檢查，所以被轉去更大的醫院了。
