Be there, be supportive, be a shoulder to cry on and change lives.

makem feel better

  • Be supportive.
  • Be a shoulder to cry on.
  • A friend in need is a friend indeed.
  • “Well, a lot of the time, when people have a problem, they just want to talk to someone. Maybe they’re not seeking advice.” (0:42)
  • Ask them questions to have your friends start talking about their difficulties.
  •  “If giving direct advice could be a little bit difficult, a little bit tricky. You could try making these indirect suggestions.” (4:09)

    • condescending: showing feelings of superiority(優越感) 高傲的
    • patronizing: treated with an apparent kindness that betrays a feeling of superiority
    • unsympathetic: not feeling, showing or expressing sympathy(同情) 冷漠的
  • Share your own experience.
(There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.)

1. Learn to recognize dangerous signs
2. Initiate dialogue in a nonjudgmental way 以不批判的態度開啟對談
3. React with feelings
4. Shift the focus from sources of pain to resources of treatment
5. Stay connected
