10 種類型的人的英文講法：
在中文裡，我們往往會用一些詞彙或流行語來統稱某一類人，今天小 V 就幫大家整理出幾個常見的族群，來看看他們的英文該怎麼說吧！
老顧客、常客
regular
我們以往聽到的「老主顧、熟客」英文不會直翻成 old customers，而是 regular customers，因為 regular 這個單字就有「經常」的意思，可以用來形容經常光顧店面的客人，或是更簡略的直稱「常客」為 regular.
She was a regular of ours until the store next door opened a couple of weeks ago.
直到幾週前隔壁店面開業，她一直都是我們的老主顧。Since I’m a regular, they always give me a good discount.
因為我是這家店的常客，所以他們總是會幫我打折。
學霸
a straight-A student
這是近年來常見的網路流行語，由於 straight-A 是指「每一科成績都拿 A 」，所以國外久而久之就用 a straight-A student 來表示這個學生「成績極好、超會念書」。
Jimmy is a well-known straight-A student in our school.
Jimmy 是我們學校很有名的學霸。Since Tony was a straight-A student, he had several scholarship offers from some famous universities when he graduated from high school.
因為 Tony 是學霸，他在高中畢業時就獲得了一些知名大學的獎學金。
上班族
office worker / 9-to-5er
為什麼是 9-to-5er 呢？因為美國上班族的工作時間多半從早上九點到下午五點, 所以才有 9-to-5er 這個俚語用法，與中文所說的「朝九晚五」意思有異曲同工之妙哦！
Tired of the routine life of being a 9-to-5er, Emma decided to take her savings and open up a restaurant.
厭倦了上班族一成不變的生活，Emma 決定利用存款來開一家餐廳。
路癡
be terrible with directions / have a poor sense of direction
英文中其實並沒有一個獨立的名詞來概括「路癡」，因此，建議用 be terrible with directions 或是 have a poor sense of direction 來形容「方向感很差、對方向完全沒概念」。
Sherry can’t go anywhere without Google Maps. Obviously, she has a poor sense of direction.
Sherry 不管去哪裡都要依賴 Google Maps，很明顯地，她就是個路癡。
菜鳥、新手
rookie / newbie
rookie 最常套用在新兵或運動員身上，像是剛進 NBA 的新秀選手，在體育新聞常常會看到這個單字。而 newbie 原指打網路遊戲或程式的新手，後來也衍伸為「某個領域的新手」。
He was thrust into the starting lineup late in his rookie season when injuries hit other players.
由於其他球員受傷病所苦，他在新秀賽季的尾聲終於獲得了先發的機會。Here is the newbie. Teach him what to do.
他是新來的菜鳥，告訴他要做什麼吧。
如果到了一個新環境，要跟大家介紹自己是新來的，也可以直接說：
I’m new here.
我是新來的。
老鳥、老手
veteran
這個單字原指「老兵」，又引申出「經驗老道的人」的意思，在美劇中常常可以看到，像是醫療劇就常以 veteran 來形容超資深的醫生等等。
The veterans are held in high esteem at this company.
老工人在這個工廠受到高度的敬重。You should consult a veteran doctor about your illness.
你應該找一位資深的醫生給你看病。
宅男、宅女
homebody
關於宅男宅女的英文其實有很多說法，像是由日文直接音譯的 otaku，較偏動漫宅，而 geek 和 nerd 是偏向科技宅，homebody 則是單純形容「喜歡窩在家裡，不愛出門的人」的道地說法，不具有貶義哦！
Oh, come on! Don’t be such a homebody. Let’s go see a movie tonight!
噢，拜託！別再宅在家了，我們今晚去看電影吧！I’m a homebody. I’d rather be in the kitchen cooking than hanging out in a bar.
我就是個宅女，比起去酒吧閒晃，我更愛待在廚房做飯。
前輩、學長姐
senior
senior 有「年長的、經驗更為豐富的」等意思，所以「資深員工」不叫做 old staff，而會用 senior staff 來形容。無論是在公司待很久的「資深前輩」還是學校的「學長姐」，都可以用 senior 來表示。
The seniors are expected to set an example for the younger children.
高年級學長姐被期許為低年級孩子們樹立好榜樣。You should become friends with your senior coworkers because you can learn a lot from them.
你應該試著和公司前輩成為朋友，因為能從他們身上學到許多。
網紅
Internet celebrity
這個就比較直觀了，網路名人，也就是我們簡稱的「網紅」，是指透過網路影音平台或社群媒體而出名的人。
Anna’s first YouTube video went viral and she’s been an Internet celebrity ever since then.
Anna 的第一支 YouTube 影片在網路上爆紅，從那之後，她就成為了一名網紅。

go viral 在網路上爆紅
viral 這個單字本身是指「病毒」，所以 go viral 是形容「像病毒一樣蔓延開來」，用來表示「某人、某篇文或某支影片，在社群媒體或網路平台上被人大量分享、點閱而造成轟動」。
邊緣人
loner / outcast
邊緣人通常是指「沒有融入某個核心族群，而看起來孤獨、很少朋友的人」，而在英文中可以用 loner 或是 outcast 來形容。
He’s a nice guy, but he’s a bit of a loner. He doesn’t have many friends.
他是個好人，但有一點邊緣，所以沒什麼朋友。Lots of people think outcasts are psychos or freaks. But actually they’re not. Most outcasts are just unique people that don’t fit into society.
很多人認為邊緣人都是怪胎，但實際上他們不是，大部分的邊緣人只是因為很獨特而無法融入大家而已。
