大家應該都知道 “Selfie” 是什麼吧？ “A photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website” 一張由照片中人物自行拍攝的照片，通常是用智慧營手機或是視訊攝影機拍攝，且上傳到社群媒體上。這也就是…自拍照，在字典中可以看到該字的 origin (來源) 是: early 21st century: from self + -ie.

1. (0:27) “Isn’t that a little narcissistic? ” 這不會有點自戀嗎?
narcissistic: 自戀的，該字從Greek Mythology( 希臘神話)中 Narcissus，他觸怒天神，因此被懲罰，愛上了自己的倒影，最後變成水仙 花，因此Narcissus 也是水仙花的英文，narcissism 也就成為心理學上「自戀」的病名。

2. (0:42) “I’m just concerning that this is gonna come across its like some pathetic plea for attention. ” 我只是在擔心，這會不會像是某種求人注意你的可悲行為
come across: 除了 「巧遇、偶然碰到」這個意思外，這個片語還有另一個意思：
“ if someone or something comes across in a particular way, you have a particular opinion of them when you meet them or see them.” 你的表現、一舉一動會讓其他人產生特定想法。例如：”A lot depends on how well you come across in the interview.” 你面試時的表現將有決定性影響力
3. (1:05) “She made me second guess my selfie.” 他讓我覺得這不是一個好主意
second-guess: “to criticize someone’s actions or an event after it has happened” 事後評論、批評，例如: “It’s easy to second-guess the team’s coach- but let’s face it, he made big mistakes.” 現在要批評教練很容易，但承認吧，他確實犯下嚴重錯誤
4. (1:43) “Being Silly.What is my life?” 裝個傻，我人生怎麼搞的?
What is my life: “this feeling of momentary overwhelming anxiety. often used in an exaggerated joking sense” 瞬間被焦慮感吞噬，此句通常用在誇張、開玩笑的語氣中，例如:
roommate 1 – Girl you cant find your keys?? you’re about to be late to class, and you know you have an exam today!!
你找不到你的鑰匙? 你要遲到了，而且你今天有考試!!
roommate 2 – *searching for keys* UGGGHHH! I know! what is my life?!
(找鑰匙) 阿!!我知道!! 我人生怎麼搞的?!

還有個小小的字 “goofy” 其實就是 silly、foolish 的意思。
