用英文閒聊時總是冷場？
一遇到老外就不知道該怎麼辦？
這裏告訴你幾個輕鬆小招數！
仔細想一想，「對話」(conversation) 是人類奇怪的發明。每個人腦子裡想不同的東西，然後用言語表達。普通的講話模式也沒什麼正式的束縛，可是大家都有與某些人話不投機半句多，或者與剛認識講幾句話就一見如故的經驗。
談話的藝術建立在場合與話題上，與互相尊敬，還有搞清楚什麼事情不應該講。看過經典電影《窈窕淑女》 My Fair Lady 的影迷永遠記得由奧黛麗·赫本 (Audrey Hepburn) 主演的賣花女伊萊莎 (Eliza) 在學習如何正式的講話時，希金斯太太 (Mrs. Higgins) 指導她在公共場合時，只能談論天氣與健康的話題。
在現代世界，社會禮儀已經改變了，而言語自由中的話題早就無止境的超越了氣象與飲食。可是如果一開口就把困難的的詞彙和複雜的想法搬出來，與你對話的人可能會不高興。其實開啟一個輕鬆和幽默的對話很簡單，參考以下的單子與三個基本的對話指南，下次在聚餐，或者公司的活動時，與任何人都可以高興的講講話，享受一下放鬆的心情與幽默的英文對話。

用英文閒聊不冷場的三個小秘訣
1. Make proper introduction, and make everyone feel comfortable
正式的介紹，讓每個人都感到安逸
當大家把衣服穿好，把自己週末或晚上的時間空出來參加聚會時，一定會希望與有禮貌的人相處。就算是平常每天見面的同事，不可能互相不知道姓名與職位，在不同的場合的時，還是正式的打給招呼。尤其是有互相不認識或者不熟悉的人，而你兩方都認識，這時就是做個和善的介紹人的做好機會。
介紹時，一定要用對方的名字，不要因為你認識他們，就「你我他」的叫，當然也不用指名道姓。介紹了名字以後，最簡單的下一步就是提到新朋友們的長處，像是最近剛升職，或者是運動健將，讓大家互相建立良好的影響，也不會忘記你的體貼與善意。
(O) This is my colleague Jonathan, and this is my friend Jocelyn. Jocelyn is an excellent advertising researcher, and she is in charge of monitoring the latest advertising trends for us. Jonathan is the new leader of our product design team, and we are so lucky to have him.

2. Say something humorous 幽默一下
幽默是最好的開場白。同事們每天都穿差不多的衣服，坐在電腦前面，換一個時間與場合，會互相有機會講講話，關心一下。如果突然看到大家換裝了，也不想討論工事，開開玩笑，輕鬆一下啟動歡樂的氣氛。可是開玩笑不是取笑別人，或者趁機抱怨。
(O) Linda, it’s so nice to see you outside the office. You look different tonight. Let me guess, you decided to let the laptop and all those files stay home, and show us how beautiful you look in a party dress.
琳達，在辦公室外看到妳真好。你今晚看起來不同。讓我猜猜，你決定讓筆記本電腦和所有的文件留在家裡，並讓我們看到妳穿禮服有多漂亮。(X) You guys are super late. I asked you to pick up some ice on the way here, but I didn’t tell you to go home, make some ice, and take your time to get here.

3. Flow in and out situations with ease, even the difficult ones
在困難的狀況下也優雅的進退
一段對話有點像一個旅程，而計劃行程的你也可能會碰到困難，所以必須未雨綢繆。如果感覺緊張，或者不喜歡話題發展的方向，趕快轉移對方的注意力，同時執行退出計劃，並優雅的離開。
