動詞三態看似不怎麼重要，
但是它可是大家最常犯的文法錯誤之一啊！
尤其是不是每次看了又看，過幾天還是會忘記呢？
像是 wake、awake、waken、awaken 到底差在哪？
這次就讓小 V 幫你一次整理這些超級容易搞錯的動詞變化，

1. Lie, Lie, Lay
咦？看到標題時可別誤會了！“Lie” 這個字有「說謊」及「躺」的意思，而 “Lay” 呢？Lay 的意思是「放置、產卵」，先來看看表格裡的動詞變化，再看看底下的例句，保證你不會再搞錯啦！

Sam has lain down for a rest. = Sam已經躺下休息了。
Sam is lying down for a rest.＝Sam正打算要躺下休息。
放置、產卵：Sam lays an orange on the table.
Sam laid an orange on the table.＝Sam放了顆柳丁在桌上。
Sam has laid an orange on the table.＝Sam已經放了顆柳丁在桌上。
Sam is laying an orange on the table.＝Sam正在把一顆柳丁放在桌上。

2. Rise, Raise, Arise
又是一組常搞混的字了！先好好確定一下，你知道這些字的意思了嗎？ “Rise” 的意思是「升起、浮現」，“Raise”有「舉起、飼養」的意思， 而 “Arise” 為「形成、上升」。都搞懂了吧！一樣先看看這些字的三態到底長什麼樣子吧！

Katie’s image has risen before me.＝Katie的樣貌已經在我的面前浮現出來。
Katie’s image is rising before me.＝Katie的樣貌正在我的面前浮現。
舉起、飼養：Katie raises her hand in the class.
Katie raised her hand in the class.＝Katie在班上舉起了手。
Katie has raised her hand in the class.＝Katie曾在班上舉起手。
Katie is raising her hand in the class.＝Katie正在班上舉著手。
形成、上升：An argument arises between Leo and Katie.
An argument arose between Leo and Katie.＝Leo與Katie之間出現了爭執。
An argument has arisen between Leo and Katie.＝Leo與Katie之間已經產生了點爭執。
An argument is arising between Leo and Katie.＝Leo與Katie之間開始出現了爭執。

3. Wake, Awake, Waken, Awaken
天呀！這組怎麼長得那麼像！其實這些字都跟「醒」有關係，首先先讓我們把意思分清楚吧！
Wake的意思是「醒來」或是「叫醒某人」，當作醒來時別忘了加上 “up”！
Awake為「喚醒」或「意識到…」，也可作為形容詞「清醒的」。
至於 “Waken” 與 “Awaken” 呢？其實這兩個字意思相當接近，Waken與Wake都有醒來的意思，比較常用來比喻「實際上的醒」，而Awake及Awaken一樣為喚醒，但偏向「抽象、心理上的醒」，就使用頻率來說，Wake＞Waken，Awaken＞Awake。這樣都懂了吧！那麼我們來看看他們的時態以及例句吧，其實沒有想像中的複雜哦！

John is waking up.＝John is wakening.＝John正在醒來。
喚醒Awake, Awaken
John awoke to reality.＝John awakened to reality.＝John回到現實了。
John has awoken to reality.＝John has awakened to reality.＝John已經回到現實了。
John is awaking to reality.＝John is awakening to reality.＝John要回到現實了。
